
Paula Belzunegui, born in Pamplona, is currently doing the CAS programme (Certificate of Advance Studies) with Helix Trio with Antón Kernjak and Anna Gebert in the Hochschule für Musik of Basel. Previously, she studied with the professors Zoltán Fejérvári and Adrian Oetiker completing the Master Performance and the Master in Pedagogy in the same institution. She did her Bachelor studies in London, at the Royal College of Music with the professor Andrew Ball.
Always a enthusiast of the chamber music, she has work with mentors such as Anton Kernjak, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Rainer Schmidt, Danjulo Ishizaka and Silvia Simionescu.
She has received different prizes like the International Music Competition “Salzburg” Grand Prize Virtuoso and the third prize in the “Giulio Rospigliosi” competition in Italy among others.
Paula received masterclasses from renowned musicians such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Zoltan Kocsis, Imre Rohmann, Andras Kemenes, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Denes Várjon, Steven Isserlis, Anthony Marwood and Eldar Nebolsin among others.
Her studies received the support from different organisations that include the Goverment of Navarre, the Foundation Caja Navarra, the FIDAH Foundation, the Foundation Melinda Estherhazy de Galantha, the Foundation “Eppur si muove”, the Foundation Zaczkowski and the Foundation de Rita Zimmermann.
With the Helix Trío they have been awarded in the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music 2022 competition and with the "Flama 2023" prize. They took part in the IMS Prussia Cove 2023 masterclasses with Professor Dénes Várjon. They have been recently named aspirants artists of ECMA and have taken part in festivals and events such as the Bern Piano Trio Fest, the Swiss Chamber Music Festival and the Musikdorf Ernen Festival.
